What does the declaration say? It says that\u00a0 both bride and groom are active participants in the Catholic Church and that they have the intention to get married in Italy (specify the church name and the wedding date).<\/p>\n<h1>Nulla osta or Nihil Obstat<\/h1>\n<p>The <strong>Nihil Obstat<\/strong>\u00a0is a letter specifies that you have no impediment to get married in the Italian Church. Your local priest will provide it for you.<\/p>\n<p>Lastly, you need the original <strong>Prenuptial Enquiry Form\u00a0<\/strong>issued by the Archdiocese of your city, which proofs that your wedding has been approved by the higher member of the Catholic Church in your country.<\/p>\n<h1>Special rules<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Divorce \u2013 if one of the parties has been previously divorced, he\/she is not allowed to re-marry in a Church, unless the Rota has annulled your wedding.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Mixed Religion \u2013 in that case, you are still allowed to get married but you should provide the Permission of mixed religion, sealed by the your Bishops Parish office.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h1>Expiration Time<\/h1>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-887\" src=\"https:\/\/ebcevents.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/expiration-time-paperworks-300x179.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"179\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ebcevents.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/expiration-time-paperworks-300x179.png 300w, https:\/\/ebcevents.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/expiration-time-paperworks.png 514w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Please note that &#8211; except for the certificate of baptism, holy communion and confirmation &#8211; all the other documents have an <strong>Expiration time of three months<\/strong>! That means the Italian Church should receive them between <strong>6 and 2 months before the wedding date<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Send all the documents to Italian Church via email through your Parish priest.
